Beneath all that classic style and those heritage-rich details, there’s an outrageous spirit lurking deep in the heart of the Road King®. And here it is, rearing its glorious chrome and sheet metal head. The Road King Custom. This ride is brand new, but the style might remind you of the custom bikes native to California beaches. The kind that grab attention like a bull in a china shop. Note the pullback beach bars, lowered rear suspension, clean leather bags with hidden supports and slash-cut mufflers. It’s got nickel-formed and chrome-plated tank emblems, a chrome wind-swept visor and bold, simple fenders over cast and chromed wheels. Even with all that boulevard styling, the Custom is made to go far. Air-adjustable rear suspension, refined chassis design and proven Twin Cam 88® engine, in carb or EFI. Check it out. It’s Road King, in its most radical form. Availability of colors may vary from dealer to dealer, and is subject to change without notice. Pearl: additional $250

For 2005, the Road King® Custom model makes its second appearance, and one year has done nothing to mellow its in-your-face style and attitude. When this machine first hit the streets, the riding public couldn’t take its eyes off the minimalist swept-back chrome visor perched atop a set of pullback beach bars. Moving back, you’ll find this custom bagger is dressed up right. Clean leather bags with hidden supports. Slash-cut mufflers. Electro-formed, chromed metal fuel tank emblems. Big, clean front and rear fenders. Rounding off the sweet look are streamlined footboards, passenger pegs, brake pedal, cast and chromed slotted alloy wheels and a tank-mounted stretch chrome console. Though the Road King® Custom has much for the eye to see, it was built to see the country. You get a lowered, air-adjustable rear suspension, refined chassis, and the proven Twin Cam 88® engine, available in carb or EFI. For when you’re ready to stop looking, and start going.

There’s an entire continent out there waiting to be explored. As you’re filling the tank to your Road King® Classic, an admirer moseys up. "She’s a beauty" is all he can manage. You invite him for a closer look. First the sidecar, color-matched with metal trim, steals his attention. Then he notices the rigid leather bags, Laced wheels, detachable windshield, big chrome headlight and nacelle. You notice his eyes grow two sizes so you mention the EFI Twin Cam 88®, refined chassis, air-adjustable suspension, triple-disc brakes and cruise control. As he’s about to reach for the tooled leather seat, the pump dings. He steps back, content with his little taste of freedom. You ride off, no doubt to fuel another dream at the next pump. For a limited time, we are offering one-of-a kind, custom color combinations that are over and above the standard two-tone color options available during the model year. These limited color combinations come with a custom decal that is only available through the Custom Color program. Each color has unique complementing pinstripes.
