Freshly restored 1977 Honda CT-70 Mini Trail. Complete teardown and restoration with the professional assistance of Honda Restorations in Collinsville, Ok. (www.hondarestorations.com). Every part on this Honda was replaced, refurbished, or rebuilt to bring it back from a non-running farm bike to a sweet street legal mini. Fresh Oklahoma Title and tag ready to transfer to new owner. The Honda bright orange paint was bead blasted off, then primed, base coated, then shot with 2 coats of Kubota Tractor Orange Enamel, and 3 clear coats, giving a more durable surface and higher gloss than original finish. Original Honda Silver wheels were bead blasted to bare metal, primed, and re-painted with a contrasting matte-black finish to give the bike a unique color combo which sets it apart. Front shocks were disassembled, with new inner seals, and new boots. Lower front shocks were bead blasted and retain the original Honda silver finish. ($575 in total professionally applied paint costs) Original engine and 3 speed automatic transmission were completely disassembled and professionally rebuilt. (A $640 cost) The bike retains its original displacement. New parts are prevalent in the rebuild including all new engine electrics (ignition coil, stator, plug cap, etc.), and repainted right side cover and cylinder head. The left side cover was missing and replaced with new parts. Engine is fueled by a new (not rebuilt) CHP carb, new fuel lines, new air cleaner, and new metal gas tank. New throttle cable, new drive sprocket /chain, new kick starter, and a re-chromed original shifter lever complement the engine rebuild. There are virtually no miles on the rebuild – it was bench tested and then put in the bike where there have been less than 5 miles put on it to assure it all works. Little expense was spared during this year long restoration. Although not concours perfect, this little Honda does turn heads and was rebuilt with the thought that she would retain the 1977 flavor, but not be burdened by the need and additional cost to make it a 100% restoration. Anyone who desires a 100% concours restoration, this is NOT the bike you want and is NOT represented as such. It is an excellent restoration with receipts for several thousands of dollars in parts/labor and hundreds of hours of my own time to get her in this condition. Pictures tell the story of the current condition. I’ve included a couple “before” pictures to show the transformation. Here’s a partial list of what’s new and what was refurbished that is not mentioned above: New Parts: chrome down tube/skid plate, entire exhaust system, “Gorilla” brand mirrors, front brake lever, rubber air intake tubes, front and rear turn signal stems / turn signals / bulbs, signal blinker relay, fuel tank pads, rear sprocket w/dampeners, front and rear fenders, tank and other decals, rear shocks, rectifier, front and rear stop light switches, battery and pigtail, complete wiring harness, ignition switch, taillight lens, front and rear wheel bearings, steering roller bearing upgrade, rear chain adjusters, front and rear brake pads, all brake springs, speedo cable, speedo gear, front brake cable, speedo assembly lights, rear brake pedal, left handle bar (right original was retained and re-chromed), throttle pipe, handlebar grips, front cable guide, kick start and shifter rubber, gas cap gasket, battery cover, chain guard, sealed beam headlight, new seat assembly (frame, pad, and cover), Bridgestone Trail Wing tires/tubes and more. Significant refurbished parts: Air cleaner assembly, headlight bucket and trim ring (repainted and re-chromed), horn, gas cap, handlebar switches, front and rear brake levers, footpeg/kickstand assembly, handlebar mounting brackets, speedo assembly (exterior polish and cleaning), right and left handle bar switches, intake manifold, seat hinge and latch, swing arm and engine mount bolts/fasteners, taillight assembly /reflector, and front side reflectors. Here’s what you may not like: Ø Speedometer was not turned back – now shows 3230 miles Ø Right handle bar kill switch is not working. The ignition switch must be used to engine off Ø The original helmet holder is attached to the bike, but is not functional. The bike had no key when purchased. The new ignition switch key will not work with the old helmet lock. Ø Foot pegs / kickstand assembly are not ’77 originals - originals were bent beyond repair. I have no capabilty to ship, but will cooperate with the new owner to get the bike to where it needs to be. However it does need to be out of my gargage within 2 weeks of final sale. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of sale, with the balance due in certified check or cash within 7 days after deposit. Sold as is with no expressed or implied warranty.
